Jawwad is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP). He is amongst the founder partners of Shekha & Mufti, a firm of Chartered Accountants and is the lead partner for the assurance and corporate services provided by the firm.

He has worked for ten years in assurance and management consulting divisions of Ford Rhodes Sidat Hyder & Co., member firm of Ernst & Young International in Pakistan.

Jawwad has looked after audits of various blue chip organisations in manufacturing, financial and service sectors, including Special Audits / Assignments outsourced by the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan, the Central Board of Revenue, Government of Pakistan and Ernst & Young International, Middle East.

In respect of corporate and business consulting services, Jawwad's work revolves around formation of companies, related business advisory and provision of secretarial services. He was selected as Project Manager for the study on Codes of Corporate Governance of SAFA Corporate Governance Principles Study of South Asian countries by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA).

Jawwad recently worked on a project of USAID and Aga Khan Foundation (USA). This project had 52 NGO's as partners, spread all over Pakistan . These partners were provided extensive support in the area of financial management, with an objective of enhancing their capacity to a level where they meet the requirements of USAID's Financial Management Standards.

He has attended various national conferences / seminars on assurance services and corporate and tax laws. He also participated in a week long course on Electronic Working Papers organized by Ernst & Young International at Colombo , Sri Lanka.

Jawwad is a member of the Technical Advisory Committee of ICAP and a former member of the Publications Committee of ICAP. He has been a Member Editorial Board of the Official Journal of The Institute of Corporate Secretaries of Pakistan.

He is member of the Income Tax Bar Association, Sales Tax Bar Association and Memon Professional Forum. Besides the above professional bodies, Jawwad is member of Karachi Gymkhana, Karachi Club and COMMECS.
